Essa é uma excelente oportunidade para o público conhecer novos autores, por isso a categoria de melhor livro de estreia, e coroar outros – que podem até se tornar bestsellers no futuro.

Por exemplo, depois que ganhou o prêmio de Melhor livro de mitério/suspense em 2020 com The Guest List, a escritora Lucy Foley ganhou muito mais palco e indicações nas plaformas de booktubers.

E é uma boa chance pra você sair da sua zona de conforta e dar aquela chance para um livro de gênero diferente!

Como funciona a votação do Goodreads Choice Awards

Primeiramente, é importante ressaltar que o Goodreads Choice Awards é o único prêmio em que não há jurados oficiais. Quem vota nos melhores livros são os leitores e, para isso, basta ser registrado na plataforma Goodreads. A votação de cada uma das 17 categorias é dividida em duas partes:

• Opening Round

O "Round aberto", em livre tradução, é a primeira fase. Aqui temos 20 livros indicados para cada uma das categorias e o público vota em um livro de cada uma delas.

• Final Round

Na fase final, a quantidade de livros cai para 10 (os dez mais votados na primeira fase) e o público novamente precisa votar no seu favorito de cada categoria.

• Anúncio dos vencedores

Por fim, é feito o anúncio dos melhores livros do ano!
